Ever since we started Polite Society in 2017 we have supplied most of our teas in pyramid bags. But now we are phasing them out. When our current stock has sold out we won't be getting any more in.
Our pyramid bags have always sold well, in fact our Daily Brew bags have been our best selling product over the years. But there are a couple of reasons why we are ending our supply.
Firstly, despite the fact that our bags have always been biodegradable there is still an environmental impact of producing them and there are many ways of brewing a really good cup of tea without them. Fuss free and cheaply.
Secondly, as a small company we don't benefit from the economies of scale in the way that "the big boys" do. It's an expensive way of supplying tea for us, and the small margins mean we then don't have the resources to buy some of the great tea out there that we would like to make available to you.
So our plan going forward is to stock really interesting tea, loose leaf only, as well as some cheap and easy methods of brewing it in. We will focus mainly on black, green and oolong teas and will have a very limited supply of good herbals. It's a big change, and not without risk, but it means we can really focus on our passion and get back to being the company we always wanted to be in the first place.
As always, all of our teas will be available for delivery to any address in Brighton & Hove free of charge, regardless of the size of your order. We hope to have many more "doorstep conversations" with like minded tea lovers.
